When did you first start your storytelling journey?
Since I was a child, I have travelled a lot with my family and lived in different cultures. I learned there is often more than one answer to the same question. I believe that there is always a solution to a problem and that if we haven't solved it yet, we just have to keep searching harder and change our perspective.
What brings you the most joy?
Surfing, hearing the sound of waves breaking on the shore, playing music, cooking and eating great food, and also, pretty much anything else that has to do with a board.
What path did you choose after leaving school?
I'm still in school. I'm not in a hurry to choose a path. However, I have many passions, like music, surfing, and skateboarding, and I care about the environment and the ocean; my hope is to continue my career as an athlete and build businesses aligned with my passions and interests.
What/who currently inspires you?
Kobe Bryant, Kanoa Igarashi and brands like Patagonia, who are in business with the goal of helping the planet.
What do you value the most?
Sushi and respect for others; I strongly believe in karma and always do my best to treat others right.
Rhythm is key in everything. As a surfer, when I find the rhythm of the ocean, I surf with grace and flow. As a musician, when I tune into the rhythm of a song, it will feels and sounds amazing. Nature has its own rhythm too, but we are not living in tune with it. We live without awareness of the consequences of our actions and I want to do my part and help others tune into the rhythm of our planet.
I “make waves”, and I ride waves. My life has everything to do with waves.
What would you most like to change in the world/environment today?
At the moment, I want to do my part in making surfing a cleaner, more sustainable sport.
What advice would you give to anyone looking to follow their dreams as an Ocean Storyteller?
Never give up, and be consistent in what you do.
If you ever feel like quitting, try and visualise the happiness and satisfaction you will feel after achieving your goal: It's worth it.
