Ishan always dreamt of travelling beyond his local community in search of ‘eye catching moments’. Whilst he’s always had a passion for storytelling, it wasn’t until Ishan’s airline job was made redundant that he was given the chance to fully throw himself into his work.
Since then, creating content has shown Ishan “so much beauty, and so much damage that our own hands have done to our beautiful planet”. Now, he intends to leave a gallery full of images and videos for those to come after him.
What is a typical day like for you?
Creating content and sharing the beauty all around.
When did you first pick up a camera and start shooting underwater?
Back in 2017 I began using a GoPro 7 for underwater… but my creative career began with a drone in 2015/16.
What do you value most in life?
Teaching and speaking of good. Saying ‘no’ to what is wrong.
What brings you the most joy?
Being in nature watching the beautiful show given to us by the Creator.
What would you most like to change in the world/environment today?
For people to have a mindset where they care more about tomorrow’s than tomorrow’s income. I believe there is a balance for everything and we humans have broken it far beyond the point of return. With education and inspiring artists we can begin getting back on track.
Are there any books/documentaries that have guided your thinking?
I used to be a huge fan of NatGeo, Discovery, and BBC Earth when I wasn’t a content creator. I learnt a lot from them… Books: ‘Quran’.

Jono Allen, Matt Porteous, Nolanomura, Natgeo channels
What legacy do you hope to leave?
A gallery full of images/videos to travel back in time for those to come after me.
What advice would you give to anyone looking to follow their dreams as an ocean Storyteller?
Don’t be a stranger in the ocean, be it’s best friend. Even though we don’t speak to it, we feel it and know how loving the ocean is. Care for it. Share the good you see, and the bad, so that together we can inspire change with real images, emotions, and stories.
