Michele Roux | Nature Photographer | Conservationist | Mexico
Argentinian Michele Roux is an avid explorer, photographer, conservationist, and adventurer who documents her time in nature. She hopes to inspire people to explore the natural world through her talented imagery.
Michele is also very focused on promoting the importance of caring for the earth and our oceans. Some of the awards Michele has received include National Geographic Magazine Mention in 2016 and Lonely Planet Pathfinder in 2018, just to name a few.
What path did you choose after leaving school?
I started my solo travel in South America and there was when I decided I wanted to dedicate myself to nature photography.
What are the fondest memories from your upbringing that you feel impacted your life choices and lifestyle today?
I've always felt empathy for nature and animals. As a child, I used to play near the mountains and watch National Geographic documentaries so I was always curious to explore the natural world.
Who/what currently inspires you?
The oceans, the mountains, the trees, the animals, the plants. Those who can't speak for themselves but teach me how I can do many things for their conservation.
What would you most like to change in the world/environment today?
The way we eat and consume. I would love people to have more connection and empathy with biodiversity and understand our bad actions are a reflection of its extinction.

What legacy do you hope to leave?
The small actions I've done have spread to other people and generated good habits. So the big changes start with a simple small action and anyone can do it. There is where we can change the world, starting with ourselves.
What advice would you give to anyone looking to follow their dreams as an Ocean Storyteller?
Stay focused on your dreams and be positive with any proof you get. The path is as important as the goal.
