Sebastian Bechtel is a 23-year-old filmmaker and photographer from Germany, working worldwide. He has a unique way of storytelling through his powerful images intending to inspire and motivate others.
Sebastian's passion for photography started with a GoPro camera he received when he was 12 years old. Since then, his love for photography and storytelling has only grown stronger. His deep connection with the ocean and the surfing scene, which he discovered during his travels around the world, has significantly influenced his work.
Sebastian loves experimenting with different formats; his work encompasses analog and digital techniques. He has exhibited his work at festivals, where his talent has been widely recognised.
What path did you choose after leaving school?
I worked as a surf instructor during the summer and then travelled worldwide in winter. My camera has always accompanied me, and one thing led to another.
What/who currently inspires you?
Morgan Maassen, Gabriel Novis, and Elon Musk.
What would you most like to change in the world/environment today?
The understanding of what a single person can achieve if they would use their full potential.
